[Letters From the Labyrinth] Brian Keene Newsletter 140

I'm Brian Keene, and this is the very late, 140th issue of Letters From the Labyrinth -- a weekly newsletter for fans of my work. Previous issues are archived here.
Apologies for the delay this week. My eleven-year old has mastered learning to ride a bike, and I've been teaching him how to jump ramps and pop wheelies all day long.
This is going to be a very quick and very short newsletter, unfortunately. It's a busy week for me, and I packed a lot of family time into this weekend because I won't get much of it this coming week.
The big news is that I've begun Blogging again. I used to Blog quite a bit. I even won two awards for them. But I stopped when social media became a thing. And now, as I get older and social media grows increasingly tiresome as septic chodes from all walks of life pollute it with their toxic, self-centered bullshit, I find myself pulling back from the form. I quit using Instagram and Goodreads and such months ago. I use Facebook only as a private thing for friends and family (the public Brian Keene Facebook page is operated by two people I trust). The only two social media outlets I use regularly are twitter and YouTube, and I will continue to use those. But as I said, more and more I find myself turning away from social media and desiring to return to my roots. I have some final thoughts, before I leave — thoughts better expressed in Blog form than on a podcast or a 140-character Tweet. I hope that you’ll join me. I'll be doing it daily at Brian Keene dot com.
(Don't worry. you'll still get weekly mini-essays here, too. Just not this week, because see above).
GHOULISH is a new comedy horror podcast hosted by Max Booth. If you’re a fan of Andy Kaufman or The Eric Andre Show, then you’ll like this. I had the honor of being his first guest, and playing the increasingly befuddled celebrity as things go awry. Click here to listen for free.
I was happy to write an essay for the new dust jacket for Stephen King’s CELL. It is part of a series of collectible Stephen King dust jackets illustrated by artist Glenn Chadbourne and with essays by Scott Ian of Anthrax, critic Jack Haringa, and others. The dust jackets are designed to fit on the original Scribner trade hardcover edition of the book. They are limited to 500 copies and cost $29.95. A portion of the profits will go toward the Haven Foundation — Tabitha and Stephen King’s charity for authors and artists in need. Click here to preorder.
CHRISTIAN JENSEN, THESPIAN - The Horror Show with Brian Keene - Episode 222
Chaos erupts as Christian Jensen returns to the show to talk about his new movie, acting versus writing, public personas, and more. But how will he fare in a battle of wits against Dungeonmaster 77.1? Plus Dennis Etchison and Frank Michaels Errington in remembrance.

That's it for this week. As always:
PATREON - Where I post new short stories, writing advice essays, two serialized ongoing novels, and behind-the-scenes stuff.
TWITTER - The only social media outlet I still use regularly.
YOUTUBE - Where I'm posting free stuff each and every day.
I'll see you back here next week, with a regular length edition!
