[Letters From the Labyrinth] Official Brian Keene Newsletter
Hi. I'm Brian Keene, and this is the 142nd issue of Letters From the Labyrinth -- a weekly newsletter for fans of my work. Previous issues are archived here.
Author Stephen Kozeniewski and his girlfriend Amy came for dinner last night. Amy made lasagna, and it was fantastic. We sat out by the river afterward and talked late into the night. Both Mary and I had a wonderful time.
I've got a book due tomorrow that I need to finish up today, and I also want to post a short story on Patreon today. So, their visit last night (which we definitely needed) is going to be the sum total of my social interaction this weekend. I had a funny story about the grocery store that I was going to share here this week, but remind me and I'll tell you about it here next week.
Last week on Twitter, somebody asked if WHITE FIRE and HOLE IN THE WORLD will be the only new books released by me this year. The answer is no. I’ve been quiet about new releases simply because age and chronic pain are slowing me down. But I’m still writing every single day, and here is what is definitely forthcoming between now and December.
THE STORM – This is coming soon, but I am not allowed to tell you anything about it...yet.
THOR: BLACK HOLE METAL – Out this fall in audio and e-book from Serial Box and Marvel Entertainment.
END OF THE ROAD and THE FALLEN – Both forthcoming from Cemetery Dance. I’m told this year, but I don’t have a date.
MAELSTROM 2019 SET – As with previous Maelstrom releases, this will be a three-book set, consisting of THE TRIANGLE OF BELIEF, CURSE OF THE BASTARDS (co-written with Steven L. Shrewsbury), and Michael T. Huyck’s WORLD’S FARE.
CENTRALIA – Working title for a novella featuring Levi Stoltzfus and Don Bloom fighting West Virginia meth cooks and a member of The Thirteen.
DISSONANT HARMONIES – Collaboration with Bev Vincent. Forthcoming from Thunderstorm Books.
And possibly…
SUBURBAN GOTHIC and INVISIBLE MONSTERS, both of which are my main focus right now. I hope to have INVISIBLE MONSTERS finished by this Fall, if my body allows me. I’m hoping SUBURBAN will be finished by December (again if my body allows me). So more likely early next year for these, but we’ll see.
