[Letters From the Labyrinth] 151
Hi. I'm Brian Keene and this is the 151st issue of Letters From the Labyrinth -- a weekly newsletter for fans of my work. Previous issues are archived here.

I'm trying something different with the format this week. If the newsletter looks different, that's why.

This was quite the past week. Last Sunday, of course, we did the 12-hour telethon fundraiser. You'll remember from last week's newsletter that I put it together last minute. Despite having less than 24 hours to plan, it went well. We had Paul Tremblay, John Langan, Jeff Strand, Christopher Golden, Stephen Kozeniewski, Maurice Broaddus and Bracken MacCleod call in to the show, and we had Kelli Owen, Robert Ford, Mary SanGiovanni, John Urbancik, Matt Wildasin, Christ Enterline and Wesley Southard live in the studio.
At the end of the day, we raised a LOT of money for four members of our community who are in need.
Unlike previous years, if you missed this one as it aired, you can STILL watch it in its entirety. the entire 12 hour livestream is available on YouTube. Click here to watch it. Among the gems are an excerpt from the new Levi novel, readings by Wesley Southard, Mary SanGiovanni, John Urbancik, Robert Ford and Matt Wildasin, an interview with Chris Enterline, and lots and lots of book talk.
Monday night I had a nice dinner with Joe Lansdale, his brother John, and Chet Williamson. Joe and John were in town to visit Gettysburg, and Chet and I met up with them at Harrisburg's Appalachian Brewing Company. Good burgers. Highly recommended.
On Friday, I had the honor of speaking to Shippensburg High School’s inaugural Horror Literature and Film class today. To the best of my knowledge, it’s the first High School level credited horror curriculum course in the U.S., so pretty cool!
In between all of this stuff, I worked on that new Levi book, had a very looooooooong conference call about the last two episodes of THOR: METAL GODS, recorded a podcast, and planned John urbancik's birthday party, which is taking place here at Casa Keene right about the time you are reading this. I also sold a new short story to a forthcoming Necro Publications anthology.
So, like I said, a busy week. Hopefully this week is a little slower.

A reminder that next weekend (September 21st and 22nd) I'll be signing at the Harrisburg Comic & Pop Con, taking place at the Harrisburg Mall 3501 Paxton St. Harrisburg, Pennsylvania 17111.
Maybe I'll eat at the Appalachian Brewing Company again, while I'm up there.
