Letters From the Labyrinth 188 - Brian Keene
Hello again. I'm Brian Keene and this is the 188th issue of Letters From the Labyrinth, a weekly newsletter for fans of my work. Previous issues are archived here.
If you're not doing anything at 5pm (Eastern time) this afternoon, myself, Bryan Smith, Christopher Golden, Tim Lebbon, Kristopher Triana, Charles Rutledge, Rio Youres, and some other fine folks are going to be Live-Tweeting a group re-watch of one of our collective favorite movies from the Seventies -- Clint Eastwood's EVERY WHICH WAY BUT LOOSE. It's a film that impacted each of us greatly as kids. If you want to watch it with use, just cue the movie up to the title screen and then hit play at 5pm. Then Tweet along with us as it plays. We'll do our best to use the hashtag #RightTurnClyde so you can follow along easier.
And that will pretty much be the first chance I've had to relax all week long. I've been up at 5am every day this past week, and going to bed around midnight. All of that time has been spent either writing or setting up the new office.
I finally put together a Patreon Index. Every single short story, serialized novel chapter, novella, essay, behind the scenes, and appendix I’ve ever posted to Patreon is now accessible through this specially categorized Patreon Index. It will make finding and reading content far easier, particularly with the switch to daily postings. You can access the index in the menu bar at my website, or by clicking here.
Also, a reminder that starting today, all Patreon content is available for the extremely low price of $5 per month. And I am posting daily. All of the old content, and all of the new daily content is yours to read, again, for just five bucks a month.
Our guest on The Horror Show with Brian Keene this past week was Michael David Wilson. He and I discussed time management for writers, his friendship with Bob Pastorella, and his new book THE GIRL IN THE VIDEO. Plus, me, Kelli, and Mary discussed how America's rush to reopen is impacting writers, and how low-budget horror film THE WRETCHED was able to dominate the box office. Listen wherever you listen to podcasts or via this link.
Meanwhile, over on Defenders Dialogue...can the combined might of The Avengers, Doctor Doom, the Sub-Mariner, and the forces of Hydrobase defeat Attuma's army? And if so, can Doom be trusted? Plus, a discussion of collecting original comic art, and a debate over whether the Hulk can beat Unus the Untouchable, as Christopher Golden and I discussed Marvel's The Avengers issues 155 and 156. Listen wherever you listen to podcasts or via this link.
And honestly, that's it for this week. It's Saturday night at 10pm, and took a break from shelving books in our library (I'm up to 'M') to write this up. But I'd like to finish with letter 'P' before I crash into oblivious, dead-tired sleep, probably on the couch.
And remember, even if this is short today, I'm posting on Patreon every day now, so you can still get your fix. ;-)
Take care of yourselves and each other, and I'll see you back here next week.
