I was so bummed when the Horror Show went off the air, but it was understandable. That show gave me so much entertainment, but had the feel of legit journalism. When I started writing, I had hopes of one day sitting across from you and the team, talking horror. Maybe that dream isn't quite dead now. Best of luck with the truck and I'll see you in Austin

What's this about Aerosmith? I hadn't realized they officially retired. Just figured they had kind of faded away quietly in the night after some of the health issue Joe Perry suffered. Plus, wasn't Steve Tyler back in rehab not so long ago? Either way, much like yourself, I grew up on Aerosmith so this is like another piece of my upbringing gone to place of nostalgia. Aerosmith was my first major concert during their Get A Grip tour. I got to see them again during their Honking On Bobo tour and finally again during their Rock Or Bust tour while the were in my city.

That Dio/Malmsteen cover of Dream On is awesome. Thanks for sharing it!

I have many fond memories of driving around in my '87 Camaro blasting an Aerosmith greatest hits CD, though I came to favor "Draw the Line" over "Dream On."

It'd be nice to hear a dog barking in the background of a rebooted The Horror Show. ;-)

I had considered seeing Aerosmith one last time while they were on this farewell tour, but apparently they've just decided to hang it up. That's too bad. I did get to see them a couple of times, though, the last time being twenty or so years ago, and those were phenomenal shows. It's incredible they could keep it up with such energy after so many years.

Noice truck. The only car I ever owned was an '87 Plymouth Turismo. I bought it at a car auction in '93 for $400. It had 87,000 and was as bare-boned as you can get—a heater and a non-working radio. I puttered around on it for 5 years, added an additional 22,000 miles on it, and sold it for $450.

Quick question. How does one get a shot story in the Splatterpunk awards? Thanks.

Wonderful post Mr. Keene, you seem to be in a better place than recently. Congrats on the new truck, it looks great. Like you, Aerosmith was part of the soundtrack of my life, I was lucky enough to see them live a couple times. Done With Mirrors is still the most underrated rock album of all time. I am currently reading Josh Malerman's 'Incidents around the House'. It is by far the scariest book I have ever read. No joke. Your blurb on the back cover, along with all of the other authors' blurbs are not just pillow talk, this truly is the first time I have experienced a jump scare in a book! Thanks for mentioning it! I can't wait for the new stories of The Stand!

Great newsletter as always. Love the combination of topics you address. Thanks for the Dio version; never heard it before.

Re: The Horror Show, I got turned onto it during its last two years, listened to a lot of back episodes as a sort of independent study on the horror profession and was a regular listener until the end. I think the new format you are considering will be great for listeners and healthier for you, though, much like, say, Wolverine, I am concerned that no matter how much you say your done fighting the good fight, when bad shit happens to good people I am suspect you won’t be able to help yourself. From what I’ve seen, your sense of right and wrong and calling out heinous behavior runs strong and deep in you. So out of respect, while I really want more Horror Show, I remember listening to the pain in your voice those last months, so I would urge you to take that truck and go fishing for a long think about all the aspects of what you are considering before you leap into the fray again.

Either way, I wish you the very best. Much thanks for showing the way.
