A: you need to talk to Chris about Elric. You really, really need to talk to Chris about Elric. Because I like Elric but he desperately needs someone else who can Elric at his level.
B: I also did not love Nosferatu. It was okay but not nearly as good as like, The Lighthouse.
Good morning and thank you for another Sunday newsletter. I really enjoy reading these. I have a question. I noticed in that picture you have a copy of House of Mystery it's an oversized issue. I also have it,just acquired it a few months back. That is a reprint, right? I have tried to find info on that damn thing and it's vague. I have a bunch of the blue ribbon digests too and I thought that was why I was thinking reprint. If you have any info it would be appreciated.
One of these days I need to head home to see my mom she still lives in Kensington if you can believe that and the I need to take a trip to your book store. Thank you for your time and have a great Sunday.-
To the best of my knowledge, all the stories inside (7 of them) are reprints. But there's some original material in the form of Behind the Scenes and How To.
It looks good. It sounds good. But it's utterly boring and not scary at all.
I wonder if it's because we have seen the Dracula story so many times? Or that it just literally played beat for beat like Bram Stokers Dracula, I mean I know it was a knock off etc. but I'm am surprised they did nothing new with it. So no you are not alone in that assessment.
You’re the best, Dad! Way to make my Sunday start off sweet. The signing was awesome and Mom highly recommended the Knox Goes Away movie, too. I’m a litttttle disappointed about Nosferatu but that’s okay. I’ll forgive ya.
Sorry to hear about Off Limits, but your line about some publishers lashing out like brain damaged howler monkeys was hilarious because it’s all too true.
You and Joe are both right about horror. For the Big 5 and presses with good distribution that can get into bookstores it has been an amazing time for horror. That said for indie writers and non-distro small presses where sales are mostly online it could get tougher especially with Amazon. Always enjoy reading on Sunday.
I have to agree about Nosferatu. Forget that the story was originally a ripoff of Dracula. I just didn’t care about any of the characters. What was it that Mark Twain said about telling the difference in the living and dead characters?

Robert Chambers.

Oh damn one more thing.
I totally agree with you on Nosferatu.

I think you may be right. ;-)

My wife and I agree with you about Nosferatu. The acting was good, the cinematography, but it felt like there wasn’t much otherwise.
I agree about Nosferatu. I heard many good things about the movie but was pretty disappointed. I prefer Bram Stoker's Dracula from 1992.
LOVE The Dark Tower series! I started reading it super early in the series and had to wait forever for each book towards the end.
I think I may be the only horror fan who has no interest in watching Nosferatu. Oh well!
