Congrats to your youngest on the college acceptance! That is awesome!
Bark at The Moon is the first Ozzy album I bought. It is my favorite as well. I have vivid memories of making that purchase at a Roses store and the serious side eye my mom gave me upon seeing the cover.
Ozzy was always there as I grew up. Bark came out when I was two, so I wasn't exactly conscious of its release. I came in as a fan with No More Tears, though I always heard the albums at family functions as a formidable youth. For some reason I hated Bark at the Moon when I first really listened to it sometime in the nineties. I dismissed it until last year when I bought the CD on a whim. It's so fucking good! Better than Ultimate Sin by far. I guess it just wasn't the right time when I listened as an angsty teenager who loved the first two solo records and probably wanted more of that.
So good to see Dallas again! Missed seeing/hearing about the cats. Very happy for you and your son for his getting into that college. I wish you much luck in your hopefully new career with that big time publisher and hopefully steadier income coming in. Chris loved Blood Sweat and Tears (me too) and of course Ozzie and Sabbath. I'm also enjoying Fallout/Landman/Roofman. I know you have many more great stories to tell inside of you like The Rising, so don't sweat it. That big publisher will be lucky to have you. Glad you got all of the Vortex store stuff moved so you can focus on your writing now. Sending you lots of luck and inspiration on your new path.
Congratulations for your son well deserved. Little Golden Book I'm going out in a limb and say very twisted children's stories for adults as for your big five project why not return to your "dead"series if possible
I can't say that "Bark at the Moon" was my favorite Ozzy album, but I agree Jake E. Lee, one of my favorite guitarist of all time, had an impossible job following in Randy's footsteps. I also like the work he did with his band Badlands, and more recently, with Red Dragon Cartel. Thank God he survived being shot a year or so ago. Great post!
Nice to know we're from the same hood, since I too was all over 98 Rock and DC 101 back then, and King Biscuit Flower Hour. Cap Center days, Civic Arena. Glorious times.

I remember my cousin Mike being a huge Ozzy fan back in the day. We're 1 month apart in age so for the month of September, he's the old man!
Now I am imagining the Keene and Golden version of The Poky Little Puppy. Terrifying! 😱
