I got my Zine in the mail yesterday. Thanks Brian. ππ. Iβm looking forward to the next one.
And speaking of looking forward to something, Labyrinth 4 canβt come soon enough. That cliffhanger ending in part 3 almost made me throw my kindle across the room.
My wife heard me start swearing from the other room. π€£π€£
I'm going to miss H. Uffda. Such a kind, supportive man. He introduced me to Paul from Thunderstorm and I'm forever in his debt for that. I last saw him in October when we shared a meal in Two Harbors, MN. We'd had a tentative plan to eat smelt from Lake Superior this spring...but alas.
I just wanted to share positive thoughts for your Grandma, I'm wishing her all the best. I'm jealous that you still have yours, I lost my last Grandparent in 2020.
I'm also VERY much looking forward to opening my mailbox and finding my copy of your "zine"! I'm guessing I'm in that last batch and hoping that my goofus local PO workers haven't lost it!
Brian, thank you for the beautiful remembrance of H. I did not even know he passed til I read your newsletter! I don't stay on Facebook long and haven't been keeping up with posts. I can't believe he's gone. Although I know my Chris was probably there to greet him when he passed as they have a lot of catching up to do! My heart breaks for his family, and I worry who will adopt his beloved cat, Sam. He so loved his books, his lovely home near the water and of course his beloved library. And I know he called you friend and cherished that bond. And I'm very sorry to hear of your poor grandmother falling ... and at that age, so fragile. I'll keep her in my prayers. Thank you for keeping us in the loop on real life. Love the pic of you and Mary. At our age, 50-60s and older, you start to feel like you are on the conveyor belt of life waiting to go to the other side and all of your loved ones and friends who precede you make you feel that one more step closer yourself. For the first time in my life one week ago I was a passenger in an MVA and for seconds I thought I'd be seeing Chris sooner than later but thankfully worse thing is seatbelt bruising. Like most, I don't fear death just how I will die. But I do believe in the after and do look forward to someday seeing all of our loved ones and dear friends again. All we can do is keep moving forward til it's our turn at the top of the conveyor belt. Take care and be safe.
Wishing your grandmother all the best! I just wanted to say I REALLY enjoyed the zine. Had no clue what it was at first, and it was a delight to read and enjoy. Felt like the good old days for a little while. The crossword kicked my ass, but was still fun. If youβre up for doing a King one at some point, that would rock. Thanks again so much for doing it.
Iβm so sorry for the loss of your friend. He sounds like an amazing person. Speedy recovery to your grandmother. I know how stressful that can be. You are appreciated in so many ways.
Shocked to hear about Kresby...He wasn't a friend, but I interacted with him a million times on the old boards, and I'm sorry to hear about his passing. Your grandmother is in my thoughts...I feel like I know her from reading about her in your newsletters.

Thank you for Of Keene Interest. It was such a treat to find in the mailbox. Sending positive thoughts and comfort to your family.
Operation: Mindcrime is one of the most influential albums in my life. I grew up considering Operation: Live Crime perfection. What a time!
I hope your grandmother makes a full and speedy recovery.

How did Kresby pass? I met him at Authorcon IV in Saint Louis. Nice guy.
