As you know, I rarely ever talk politics anymore, but I am today, because I always talk about my week, and this past weekend involved politics. Last Friday night, Mary and I were watching TV, and my phone rang. The caller was an official from PA Senate candidate John Fetterman’s campaign, wondering if I might be interested in filming some stuff with their digital team, and speaking to the press at Saturday’s rally in York. I said yes because — like John — York is my hometown, and because I support his candidacy, and because I’m always happy to have some attention.
I'm SOOOOOOO glad to get your confirmation of Fetterman's for-realness. He's a man I root for sincerely; and were I still a Pennsylvanian, he would sure as shit have my vote. I think we need a couple thousand more like him. And maaaaaybe one of them is...you? LOVE YOU, MAN!!!
I was born and raised in Philly PA until I moved out here to WA State; wish i could still vote in the elections there :) I agree with the below Keene for Congress! H Casper told me about the beautiful tribute you wrote to my husband in SUBMERGED (And for Chris Hansen, in whatever level he is currently residing). I know Chris appreciated that and is smiling above. And finally, thanks for ensuring Josie and the kittens are loved and are given good homes. Glad you're keeping Josie (and surprised you're not keeping that lil wee gal who you featured last wee!) I'll miss hearing the kitten stories but look forward to more of your book tales.
I am, thank you. It's comforting to know how many peoples' lives he touched/impacted. As it was our favorite holiday and wedding anniversary, from me and Chris to you and Mary I say - Have a very Happy (and wonderfully scary) Halloween!
Great Letter as usual Brian! I appreciate your thoughts and comments on any topic, including politics. Switching gears, I am planning on attending the Lovedraft's signing event. I have a bunch of books signed by you (all at Comix Connection York. Hi Bill and Ned!) but I have 12 that are not. I want to be respectful of your and everyone else's time. What is an appropriate number of books to bring? If it's only 1 I will still be there 🙂.
Don -- bring them all! This one is gonna be set up a little different from a traditional signing, in that the books will all be in one area and the authors will be stationed in the bar. So find me in the bar and I'll sign them all for you. ;)
Keene for Congress? I genuinely like it. We need more independents in DC.
