I wouldn’t consider myself an experienced woodsman (or even a woodsman for that matter,) but I’d absolutely be down for that hike. Barring a Deliverance scenario, it truly sounds like a great time!
Enjoyed that little trip down memory lane - Pantera was the first big live band I ever saw back in 93 at the tender age of 15 - to say I was blown away was an understatement
That was a great newsletter! Enjoyed reading about the concert. I’m a concert fanatic! My kids and I went to 4 concerts in 6 days in July, that wasn’t enough for me... I went to another with a friend. (Godsmack/Staind) it was fantastic by the way. I love that you are doing more walking and I’m impressed with your self challenge. If you are friends with them on Fitbit you can at least see how your steps are racking up to them. I do agree that I loved the regular Fitbit challenges. Send us one on Stridekick!
I’ve only been knocked out once and concussed once. Both happened simultaneously in a pit for “Aggravated Assault” as they opened for Hatebreed. I swear I sat the rest of the show, yet Nicole says I got in the Hatebreed pit, and there is indeed a video of me moshing to and fro. At soon-to-be 52, I stay out of the pit now too. But I feel it’s call. Every . Damn. Time.
We’re going to see Pantera in Detroit this November, when they open for Metallica.
Thanks Geoff for the great Pantera write up. My husband Chris would've loved it, being a fan. Brian, Mary's right, about worrying about you hiking the trail alone, at our age, I'm 58 gonna be 59 this October, it's always good to have at least one person along in case of emergencies. Chris had talked about wishing he could hike both the Pacific Coast and Appalachian Trails....I have no doubt he's doing that in spirit now :) Enjoyed the newsletter, thanks to both you and Geoff.

Geoff Cooper nailed the concert experience.
Thanks for sharing it.
“How heavy is a Pantera riff?” 🤘🏻💀🤘🏻
Geoff’s words hit in so many levels.

That was fun. Great stuff!
This absolutely made me well up. Thanks so much for sharing, sir.
And I may have in turn shared this with a friend of mine, who has a family member with the surname Butler. Just sayin’ 😊
