I think I would quite like to live in a forested area with the river alongside me, back when I was growing up a lived in a small village with close to zero vehicle traffic and the river Esk ran along the bottom of our garden. Now I’m in a more touristy English town (Whitby famous Dracula and Captain Cook I guess) but it’s still nice being a two minute walk from the beach so I can have good mooch with the dog.
There's this American chap I talk to at work now and then, I mentioned my favourite horror author lives in Pennsylvania and of course it turns out that’s where he’s from but he’s been in Whitby now for the last 30 years as he married a Brit.
I loved it. All kinds of little Easter eggs that pop out on repeated views. And if you haven't noticed, pay attention to what's going on to the side of the screen during Christopher's opening narration. That's Tony's grave they're digging!
Hey Brian, first HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And thank you for the hundredth time for taking care of those cats and kittens. You really are making a difference. I'll miss reading about the kittens and esp. Bocephus but I'm glad you're helping to find her a furrever home. I had started a few episodes of Hunters with Pacino but for whatever reason stopped and went on to something else; maybe I'll go give it a second looksee. Take good care and enjoy the Fall and coming Halloween season!!!!
Belated happy birthday, and many more decades, problems and victories to come...because the alternative of death is boring! (that's as far as I can go to catch the sunshine ;))
Yesterday I spent the day volunteering at a local animal rescue’s booth at a cat fair. I also foster dogs. You are such a good man. I so hope to get down to the States and meet you and Mary sometime at a signing etc. (Because we all know that behind every good man is an even better partner).
Dear Brian, for about five months, I’ve been planning to visit and meet you at Dark Delicacies in Burbank. I’ve been imagining the scene in my mind. I would purchase a book and tell you that I was the narrator of the ultra-fun WITH TEETH, which I enjoyed greatly. I had the chance to go to a live Buddhist meeting that morning. Sadly, I had to have adult priorities and go to only one out- of -house experience in the day. My dog is kenneled and cannot stay in the kennel for five or six hours a day. I skipped the Buddhist meeting and then I called to confirm that you were still going to be at Delicacies. Imagine my surprise? It freed up my day. I had a chance to do my Actor homework on playing a, yes, weirdly, a vampire in a film, shooting in Oregon next month and learn the words for the king of France from All’s Well that ends well in live theatre here in LA. I am still just crawling out of the shell of the pandemic and I’m distrustful of large groups of people, wish us all luck. I still feel I know you a little bit from your writings which, by the way are not good for reading before bed. A bit too thrilling. An admirable trait if you’re not a bedtime reader. Anyway, regardless of disappointed hopes, I wanted to say hello and thank you for WITH TEETH, sharing your shine with us all, and , all those roving zombies. Perhaps we will meet one day. All best wishes to you and Mary, and all the flora and fauna of your area…Very Truly, Time Winters
"...they sometimes leave their pets behind. On a few occasions, this has been a dog..." That made me think of "The Pack" starring Joe Don Baker. Have you ever seen it? The book it was based on, by David Fisher, was a lot different and much better than the movie.
That's a pretty neat fact! ;)
See you guys at Lovedraft's!
Happy belated birthday!!
Also happy belated birthday

What did you think of "Saints".
A good movie in my opinion, bit would have been better as a series.

I hope all the cats can find good homes, brother.
Happy belated birthday. Hope you have a good week.
As always, thank you for the newsletter. How are you finding Whalefall?
Happy belated birthday!!!

Haven't, but I'll check it out.
Happy late birthday. Great job once again with the kittens. Awesome newsletter, as usual. Hope to see you in November in Richmond.
